Hundreds attend Firefighter Recruit Candidate Forum

On Saturday, October 26, 2013, the San José Fire Department held a recruit candidate forum for those interested in applying for a position as a Firefighter-Recruit with the city of San José.

The event was held at the San José Convention Center and was attended by hundreds seeking to learn more about the process of becoming a firefighter with the San José Fire Department.

Numerous organizations were on hand to provide information to attendees. 
The forum featured presentations describing the requirements to become a San José Firefighter-Recruit, the application and testing process, and the San José Fire Academy training experience.

The San José Fire Department is now accepting applications for both Firefighter-Recruit (Paramedic) and Firefighter-Recruit (EMT) for an anticipated August 2014 Fire Recruit Academy.

The San José Fire Department is an advanced, diverse, and progressive fire department situated in the Capital of Silicon Valley. The Department's core mission is to serve the community by protecting life, property, and the environment through prevention and response. The department protects approximately 200 square miles of terrain including residential, commercial, high-rise, and wildland interface areas.
