“Fastest Firefighter/Quickest Cop Competition”


On Thanksgiving morning, the Inaugural Running of “The Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot” will take place in downtown San Jose. As part of the 5-k race, the organizers have included the “Fastest Firefighter/Quickest Cop” Competition, sponsored by KB Home, with Fire Chief Jeff Clet and Police Chief Rob Davis as the Honorary Chairs.

The “Fastest Firefighter/Quickest Cop Competition” will begin at 9am, with the race start and finish in front of Scotts Seafood at 185 Park Avenue in downtown San Jose. Much of the course will be on the recently opened Guadalupe River Park Trail. The event includes a 5-k run (or walk) as well as a 10-k run – with the Fastest Firefighter/Quickest Cop Competition as part of the 5-k (3.1 mile) run.

AWARDS: For the “Fastest Firefighter/Quickest Cop Competition,” in addition to race t-shirts and goody bags, their also are prizes for the fastest males and females as follows:

• Top Three Males – under 45 years old
• Top Three Females – under 45 years old
• Top Three Males – 45 and over
• Top Three Females – 45 and over

Who: Family event open to everyone.
When: Thanksgiving Morning @ 0900 hrs
Where: Downtown San Jose Guadalupe River Park (Course TBD)
Cost: $ 26.00 per participant. Includes t-shirt
