The San Jose Fire Department wants to remind you to stay vigilant and alert
Due to the current Red Flag Alert the San Jose Fire Department wants to remind our community is to stay vigilant and alert in regards to Fire safety. The recent cool temperatures may have given our community a false sense of security.
A Red Flag Warning exists when a combination of high winds, low moisture in the air & in fuels combined with the lack of significant rain cause a high fire danger.
As a reminder:
*Residents should continue to have a defensible space around their home by removing all
flammable material 100 feet from your home
*Including removing all dead leaves, branches & shrubs
*You should have at least two exits from your neighborhood
*Your address should be posted clearly in front of your driveway
*You should create an exit plan with your neighbors
*Refrain from any type of burning, including in your fireplace
The San Jose Fire Department is on Red Flag Alert and has extended the wild-land fire season indefinitely as of Monday, November 14, 2005.
